May Recap

May was an incredible month as our little family grew from three to four, we celebrated three birthdays and Mother’s Day, Justin went back to work, and more!

I loved getting Justin home with us for two straight weeks. I couldn’t have survived without him!

He let his beard grow out when he was off duty and we snapped this pic before he had to shave it. Because he can’t have a beard at the fire department, this will be the last time in a very long while that he will have it.

We did manage to take Georgia for her first trip to the fire department and both babies got in some good snuggle time with Justin.

The pets were thriving. Gus is now 5 months old and bigger than May. Our second hatch of chicks made their way out of the brooder to the coop.

We had lots of time outside (with Georgia and Wy taking plently of naps along the way).

Justin whipped up this NERF gun storage wall.

I have to wrangle baby gear like it’s going out of style. Pinterest has helped me keep things straight!

Carpet Disaster

Wyatt really broke me in to being a parent of two when Georgia was just a few weeks old. Here is my Facebook post. It captures my reaction fresh from that day:

To all my friends, family, coworkers, folks at church, and concerned ladies in the grocery store, I LIED. You have all asked me how adjusting to two kids has been and I've smiled and said, "It's not as bad as everyone warned me it would be." I didn't technically lie as much as I was just plain naive. The other shoe simply hadn't dropped... UNTIL TODAY. Wyatt, Georgia, and I all were catnapping this morning when I heard Wyatt make some noise in his playroom. I looked over to see his feet and hands COVERED IN WHITE PAINT. He found the paint I used for the front door, decided to pour some on the floor, and proceeded to track it in the foyer, living room, CARPETED hallway, and into the bathroom. I couldn't yell, spank him, or punish him in any worse way than the way I utterly terrified him by just breaking into hysterical fits of crying and gasping for air. After a frantic call to Justin Cook, I managed to gather my composure slightly and called my MIL for reinforcement and to borrow the carpet cleaner. I managed to get most of it scrubbed up with a scrub brush and hot soapy water and Mrs. Desiree with the carpet cleaner did the rest of it. I am thankful for family to come to my rescue and the ability to find slight humor in the situation when it's all said and done. So now if you ask me how life is with two kids, I have some very memorable photos to give you a visual response. A stressful time but oh, how I love these babies!

“Snapchap”

I was definitely late to the Snapchat game mostly because I thought it was for teenagers to send sexts to there boyfriends/girlfriends without the evidence sticking around. After my sisters almost drove me crazy to get the app for the crazy filters I decided I would check it out. We have had the most fun playing around with the crazy daily filters! Wyatt loves “snapchap” and likes to send the pictures to his aunts and uncles. I know this is just some crazy fad but I hope this blog gets passed down to my kids someday and I hope Wyatt and Georgia get a laugh out of seeing the crazy stuff we did for entertainment.

The face swap option was crazy. I sent these to my mama and she really couldn’t tell if the first two were me or Suzi. Sami’s was a little more obvious because of the bright red lipstick. I think it is so weird how similar we actually are!
