Papa Theron’s 80th Birthday

October 19 marked Justin’s grandfather Theron’s 80th birthday and the whole Cook family was invited to my in-laws’ house to celebrate. Justin fired up the smoker and there was enough food to feed TWO armies! Here are some quick snaps from the day:

We also got Wyatt’s fall pictures back. It is a project in our small town where a photographer comes into the local library and then all of the kids’ pictures are run in the Wiregrass Farmer weekly newspaper right around Christmas time. These turned out great!

Sunbelt Expo

Justin, Wyatt, and I got to enjoy this year’s Sunbelt Expo in Moultrie this past week. I swear if I had a million dollars, I’d buy Wyatt tractors for him to play on all day long.

Hunter Cattle Company

Justin, Wyatt, and I visited Hunter Cattle’s family fun day last weekend. They have a really neat setup and kids of all ages would have plenty to see and do while there. We spent a good three hours checking out the fun:

Hunter Cattle has grass fed beef, pastured pork, chickens, and turkeys so we got two big steaks to go on the grill when we got home that night.

Animals!

Last weekend, I had to visit with a client in the Statesboro area and Justin and Wyatt made the trip with me. We had a few hours of down time so we headed over to my alma mater, Georgia Southern University, and visited the Center for Wildlife Education. Wyatt loved seeing the animals. My favorite part was where he said, “Kitty! Kitty!” when we saw the possum.

We were able to catch up with my college roommate Erica, her husband Nick, and little Henry (10 months Wyatt’s junior). We had a great supper and played on the playground for a bit and enjoyed catching up.

My sister Sami took our family photos is a beautiful field full of fluffy white cotton a few weeks ago. I love how our pictures turned out. Usually photogenic Mr. Wyatt gave us a bit of trouble because he wanted to play with the cotton much more that he wanted to look at the camera.
