Visit with Santa

We had our annual visit with Santa in Elrod Park in Ashburn this week. Thankfully Sami took some professional shots but I did manage to get some decent ones on my phone too. Wyatt had a great time telling Santa about all of the fishing and hunting gear he wanted and Georgia didn't give him the side-eye too badly.

We even managed to get the Mathis/Cook cousins together for a group shot:

Mule Day

We travelled to Mule Day in Calvary, Georgia. It was chilly at night but the days were perfect! We loved sitting around the fire at night and enjoying family as company. This family tradition is so fun!

Cane Syrup Making

We had a family cane syrup making day out at the Cook homestead and it was so fun. I always joke that Justin just does all the work and I get to document it. It usually is true. While I did help cut and load cane, the hard work in the syrup shack isn't on my duty list.

We had family and friends around and Mr. Ben Baker took up an entire page and the top half of the Wiregrass Farmer to document the process. It is so cool that things like this are able to happen. This is the real beauty of a small town newspaper and knowing the editor for 25 years!

Bulldog of the Month

Wyatt was selected as Bulldog of the Month for his class and we got to celebrate with a special breakfast. I am glad I was able to make it to see him celebrate. We are proud of the hard work he does in school!

I also got to see this gem that Wyatt did for Veterans' Day. It says "Thank you for fighting for our world" in kindergarten-ese. So cute!
