South of the Border

I have very vivid memories of seeing South of the Border, a hokey tourist trap in South Carolina, on our trips back and forth to see our family in New Jersey growing up. I would bet my mama every time that I remembered which side of the road it was on but there was a hidden curve and it would shift to the opposite side every time. I would lose a quarter to her each trip making that bet.

We were heading up to North Carolina for my cousin's wedding and Easter and of course I put in a bid for us to stop there on the way. It was every bit as much of a tourist trap as I remembered it being. Wyatt loved posing with the animals and I believe we could have spent a bit more time there if we weren't all ready to get to NC.
